PALMDALE, CA – Assemblyman Tom Lackey released the following statement regarding the election in the 36th Assembly District.
“I’m thrilled by the results of this election. It’s clear that voters in the 36th Assembly district believe that I am the best person to represent the Antelope Valley in State Assembly. I’ll keep fighting in Sacramento to make sure residents receive the services they need, give the Antelope Valley a voice in government, and ensure government is working for the people. I’m focused on pursuing unemployment claims for residents who are out of work and struggling. I promise to keep fighting for Gabriel’s law to create an online database to manage allegations of child abuse and to clear the backlog of over 14,000 rape kits in California.”
As of Thursday afternoon, Lackey led the race by almost 14,000 votes and more than 10%.
Tom Lackey represents California’s 36th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Lancaster, Palmdale, Rosamond, Mojave and California City.
