Palmdale, CA — Assemblyman Tom Lackey today announced he has received the endorsement of the San Bernardino County Firefighters Local 935, an organization that represents the men and women of the San Bernardino County Firefighters and their affiliate membership of the Colton, Loma Linda, Big Bear, and Montclair Fire Departments.
Lackey thanked the firefighters association for their endorsement, saying: “As a 28-year veteran of law enforcement and public safety, I understand the struggles our first responders face. I thank San Bernardino Firefighters Local 935 for their endorsement and dedication to protecting our communities. I look forward to continuing the great, working relationship I have with local first responders and the progress we have made together in making their job safer.”
In announcing the endorsement, Local 935 President, Jim Grigoli said, “During his eight years at the State Capitol, Tom Lackey has consistently been a leader in the field of public safety. Unlike his opponent, Firefighters can count on Tom Lackey to deliver results on the important issues of fire protection and prevention that impact so many of our High Desert and Mountain communities.”
San Bernardino Professional Firefighters Local 935 is the latest public safety organization to endorse Tom Lackey for Assembly including CAL FIRE Local 2881, the California Police Chiefs Association, Crime Victims United, the Police Officers Research Association of California, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association, the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, and the California Professional Firefighters.

Before entering elected office, Lackey worked as a classroom special education teacher and as a California Highway Patrolman. Tom started his political career as a member of the Palmdale Elementary School Board, then moving on to the Palmdale City Council. He was elected to the California State Assembly in 2014 and has been serving the High Desert there for the past eight years.
Tom lives in Palmdale with his wife, Linda. Together, they have two children. Tom is running for re-election in the 34th Assembly District, which includes portions of high desert communities in San Bernardino County, South East Kern County, and Northern Los Angeles County.
