As a recent survivor hospitalized due to COVID-19, I know this virus should never be taken lightly. I urge people who are not wearing facemasks in public to reconsider. Facemasks are an easy way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep families safe while social distancing times in these uncertain times.

In the legislature, I voted to support over $1 billion in COVID-19 response and preparedness. (SB 89).

Our front-line workers fighting COVID-19 deserve access to protective equipment, health benefits and paid leave. That’s why I supported a law that would provide workers’ compensation benefits to those infected at work.

Thousands of Californians are facing possible exposure, and my personal experience helped me understand the risk that many are facing.  This virus is no joke. I am grateful for all the good wishes and prayers I received from around the nation.
