Congressmen McCarthy and McKeon Endorse Tom Lackey
“The Perfect Choice”
Palmdale, CA – Congressman and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy as well as Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon have endorsed Palmdale City Councilman Tom Lackey for the State Assembly.
“Tom Lackey is a good person, solid elected official, and great family man,” said McKeon. “He is the perfect choice to represent the Antelope Valley in the State Assembly.”
Lackey has become the obvious choice to represent the Antelope Valley in the State Assembly. After recently retiring from the California Highway Patrol and getting the most votes last November in the Palmdale municipal elections, Lackey is well positioned for this Assembly run. He has a solid base of support in the Valley.
“Tom is the kind of leader our community needs in Sacramento,” said McCarthy. He grew up in Kern County, became a special education teacher, and spent 28 years protecting our families with the California Highway Patrol. He will represent the Antelope Valley well.”
The 36th Assembly District includes the counties of Los Angeles, Kern, and San Bernardino, encompassing the Antelope Valley, Lancaster, Palmdale, Boron, California City, Mojave, Wrightwood, and Piñon Hills. Last month marked the end of Lackey’s career with the California Highway Patrol. For 28 years, he patrolled the area’s highways, helping to ensure the safety of both residents and families on the road.
Tom Lackey was raised in Boron and graduated from Boron High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from Utah State University, and lives with his wife, Theresa and their two children in Palmdale.
