CA Correctional Peace Officers Association Makes Decision in AD 36: Tom Lackey for Assembly
Palmdale, CA— Former Highway Patrol Sergeant and Candidate for Assembly, Tom Lackey has received the endorsement of the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA).
As an association that represents every state correctional peace officer in California’s prison system, including parole agents and those who work at youth facilities, there is no group of men and women who understand policy decisions and their affects on public safety better than the members of CCPOA.
When asked about their endorsement, Charles Hughes, President of the California Correctional Peace Officers’ Association at the California State Prison – Los Angeles County said, “As a fellow law enforcement officer, we know retired Highway Patrol Sergeant Tom Lackey is the best person to represent our community and fight for laws that protect our neighbors and help law enforcement keep us all safe. He kept our streets and highways safe for decades and we need him working for us in Sacramento.”
For nearly 30 years, Tom Lackey worked as a Highway Patrolman, dedicating his time on the job to the safety of the residents in which he currently seeks to represent in California’s 36th Assembly District. He has used his experience in a uniform and knowledge of public policy to serve on local committees such as the Antelope Valley Crime Task Force, where he helped to increase the level of safety for surrounding families.
His longtime commitment as a leader for the community that he is proud to call home has earned Lackey the endorsements of taxpayers, local leaders, and numerous public safety organizations, some of which include: every County Supervisor in the District, the National Federation of Independent Business, the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, and the Professional Peace Officers Association.
In addition to his work as a peace officer, Lackey is a three-term, local City Councilman, former special education teacher, and former School Board Member. He has been a strong advocate for lower taxes, job creation, and public education reform.
Tom Lackey and his wife Theresa, live in Palmdale with their two adopted children, Justin and Jani.
