Palmdale, CA — Assemblyman Tom Lackey today announced he has received the endorsement of Crime Victims United, in his campaign for re-election to the 34th Assembly District.
Assemblyman Lackey responded to the endorsement, stating: “The High Desert has unfortunately seen some truly horrific crime in the pat several years. Our community is suffering and liberal Sacramento policies that let criminals off the hook and ignore the rights of victims, are largely to blame. I will always protect victims and work to get criminals off the streets. This endorsement from Crime Victims United is a testament to that commitment and I won’t let them down.”
Assemblyman Tom Lackey has served the High Desert in the Assembly since 2014 and before that, as a member of the Palmdale Elementary School Board and Palmdale City Council. Lackey also spent several years as a higher education teacher and 28 years with the California Highway Patrol, retiring as a Sergeant. Lackey is the only member of the Assembly Republican Caucus with law enforcement experience.
As Vice Chair of the Assembly Public Safety Committee, Lackey has been an outspoken advocate for victims rights and ensuring their voices are heard in the criminal justice system.
The endorsement from Crime Victims United is yet another addition to a growing list of law enforcement organizations, public safety officials, and community leaders supporting Assemblyman Lackey in his bid for reelection.
Lackey has two children, and lives with his wife Linda in Palmdale. He is running for re-election in Assembly District 34, which includes portions of high desert communities in San Bernardino County, South East Kern County, and Northern Los Angeles County.
