Palmdale, CA — The California Professional Firefighters, representing thousands of active and retired firefighters throughout the state, have endorsed Republican Tom Lackey for re-election to the 34th Assembly District.
Commenting on the endorsement, Assemblyman Lackey stated “The California Professional Firefighters represent tens of thousands of firefighters across California and here in the High Desert. It has been an honor working with them in the legislature to promote public safety and ensue our firefighters have the tools and resources necessary to keep our community safe.”
Assemblyman Tom Lackey has served the High Desert in the Assembly since 2014. Prior to that, he was an elected member of the Palmdale Elementary School Board and Palmdale City Council. A career law enforcement officer, Lackey spent 28 years with the California Highway Patrol, retiring as a Sergeant, making him the only member of the Assembly Republican Caucus with law enforcement experience. As Vice Chair of the Assembly Public Safety Committee, Lackey has been an outspoken advocate for public safety and first responders.
The CPF endorsement adds to Lackey’s growing list of support from first responders, law enforcement, elected leaders, and grassroots activists.
Lackey has two children, and lives with his wife Linda in Palmdale. He is running for re-election in Assembly District 34, which includes portions of high desert communities in San Bernardino County, South East Kern County, and Northern Los Angeles County.
