PALMDALE, CA – Assemblyman Tom Lackey has received the endorsement from all five current members of the Santa Clarita City Council.
In announcing the endorsement, Mayor Laurene West stated “Tom Lackey is a strong leader who has done much to advocate for public safety in our communities. His commitment to protecting families and tested experience as a public servant makes me proud to endorse Tom Lackey for State Assembly.”
Councilmember Cameron Smythe, a former Assemblyman himself, added, “I know firsthand the challenges our representatives face while in Sacramento and Tom Lackey has shown he has what it takes to be successful.”
West and Smyth were joined by Councilmembers Marsha McClean, Bob Keller and Bill Miranda in endorsing Assemblyman Lackey. The full statements from each Councilmember are available below.
Assemblyman Lackey has represented the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys since 2014. During his time in Sacramento, he has been able to bring new jobs to the district and fight tax increases. Lackey has also brought his past experiences as a special education teacher and highway patrolman to the capitol and worked on promoting education reform and standing up for public safety.
Tom Lackey is seeking re-election to California’s 36th Assembly District, which includes the Antelope Valley and parts of the Santa Clarita Valley.
