Assemblyman Tom Lackey Endorsed by Congressman Steve Knight

Palmdale, CA — Today, Assemblyman Tom Lackey announced that he has received the endorsement of Congressman Steve Knight in his bid for re-election.

Congressman Knight is a U.S. Army veteran and 18 year veteran with the Los Angeles Police Department. In 2005, Knight was elected to the Palmdale City Council, and later served terms in the State Assembly and the State Senate. Since 2014, Knight has represented the residents of the 25th Congressional district, focusing his efforts on bringing federal drought relief to California as well as working to increase the number and presence of aerospace companies within the Antelope Valley.

“Assemblyman Tom Lackey is a passionate leader who has spent his first term in the Assembly advocating for hard working families, taxpayers and small business owners,” stated Congressman Knight. “As a fellow law enforcement officer, Tom understands the importance of protecting our communities and promoting a safe environment to raise our kids. Raised in the mining town of Boron, Lackey developed a passion for public safety at an early age, and served for 28 years with the California Highway Patrol. Prior to being elected to the State Assembly in 2014, Lackey served as a member of both the Palmdale Elementary School Board and Palmdale City Council. A vocal proponent for public safety laws, Lackey co-authored California’s first drugged driving regulation — ensuring that roads remain free of dangerous drivers.
