California Reserve Police Officers Association Endorses Lackey

Lackey Clear Choice for Public Safety

Palmdale, CA – Retired Highway Patrolman and current Palmdale Mayor Pro-Tem, Tom Lackey has been endorsed by the California Reserve Police Officers Association (CRPOA) for the State Assembly. Lackey continues to earn broad support from the public safety community, and the endorsement of the CRPOA gives his campaign even more momentum coming out of the Juen election.

“Tom is a community leader and strong advocate of public safety,” said CRPOA President James Lombardi, a Reserve Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. “His record of supporting law enforcement, fighting crime, and leading with clear principles and the highest ethical conduct should give voters the confidence they need to make Tom Lackey their choice for Assembly.”

The California Reserve Peace Officers Association was founded in 1974 for the purpose of raising the professional, educational and employment standards of Reserve Peace Officers. Working with individual associations, departments, and the California Legislature, CRPOA has been actively engaged in working for the betterment and welfare of reserves.

“We have a statewide problem with public safety and Realignment, and as an Assemblymember I will bring experience and common sense to the debate about prison overcrowding,” remarked Councilman Lackey. “With a stagnant economy, an inadequate education system, and increasing threats to public safety, California need elected representatives who understand the issues and who can provide effective solutions. I will be that voice for Assembly District 36.”

As the Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Palmdale, Lackey has been a strong advocate for lower taxes, public safety, and improvements to public education. As a legislator, Lackey will use his experience to fight for lower taxes, increase public safety, secure education improvements, and promote economic activity through the private sector.

Tom Lackey is the city delegate to the Citizens Advisory Committee for California State Prison – Los Angeles County, the city representative on the Antelope Valley Transit Authority Board, an appointee to the Antelope Valley Crime Task Force, and was most recently appointed to the Metropolitan Transportation Board for L.A. County by Supervisor Antonovich. In addition to his service as a local elected, Lackey recently retired as a Sergeant with the California Highway Patrol, spending 28 years of his life protecting residents and hard working families.

Campaigning to replace Assemblyman Steve Fox in what is one of the most closely monitored legislative races in California, Lackey continues to focus on job growth through private sector development, looking to create jobs for local residents.
