Assembly Candidate Lackey Endorsed by Associated Builders and Contractors
Lackey the “Clear Choice” to “Promote Sound Economic Growth”
Palmdale, CA – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has endorsed retired Highway Patrolman and current Palmdale City Councilman Tom Lackey in his bid to represent the Antelope Valley in the Assembly.
“Tom Lackey is the clear choice for the Assembly,” remarked Don Chisum Board Chairman of ABC’s Central California Chapter. “Lackey is a proven leader and a champion of small business. We are confident that he will work diligently in the Assembly to create jobs and promote sound economic growth.”
Representing almost 21,000 members, ABC is a trade association that seeks to provide a collective voice to contractors nationwide. As a leading voice in the construction industry, ABC champions free enterprise while eliminating barriers to fair and open competition.
“The Antelope Valley depends heavily on new construction to fuel a full and robust economic recovery,” remarked Lackey. “As an Assemblyman, I look forward to working with Associated Builders and Contractors in order to find ways to cut overbearing regulations that hinder development and stymie real economic opportunity.”
As Lackey looks to represent a region of the state that has felt the effects of California’s historic recession more than most, the endorsement of the ABC gives confidence to the small business owners, hardworking families, and residents of Assembly District 36.
As the Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Palmdale, Lackey has been a strong advocate for lower taxes, public safety, and improvements to public education. He continues to focus on job growth through private sector development, looking to create jobs for local residents.
In addition to his service as a local elected leader, Lackey recently retired as a Sergeant with the California Highway Patrol, spending 28 years of his life protecting residents and hardworking families.
Lackey is running to replace Assemblyman Steve Fox in what will be one of the most closely monitored legislative races in California. As a legislator, Lackey will use his experience to fight for lower taxes, increase public safety, secure education improvements, and promote economic activity through the private sector.
Tom and his wife Theresa, live in Palmdale with their two adopted children, Justin and Jani.
