Professional Peace Officers Association Endorses Lackey for Assembly
Experienced Leadership
Palmdale, CA – Retired Highway Patrol Sergeant and Candidate for Assembly, Tom Lackey has received the endorsement of the Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA). As Lackey announced his campaign only weeks ago, he has already developed tremendous support from community leaders, elected officials, and organizations.
The PPOA’s support marks the first public safety endorsement for Lackey’s campaign, and is significant for a career Highway Patrolman who will help to fight against the effects of California’s prison realignment.
When asked about their endorsement, PPOA President Brian Moriguchi said, “Public safety is our number one concern. It is important that the residents in this Assembly District are safe and our police officers have the tools to do their jobs. As an Assemblyman, Tom Lackey will provide the experienced leadership needed to ensure that public safety is a top priority.”
As an Officer for the California Highway Patrol, Lackey committed over 28 years of his life to keeping our roadways safe. In addition to his commitment to the safety of High Desert residents, Lackey has worked to better the local public education system, fight higher taxes, and promote private sector economic growth.
Tom Lackey is a former School Board Member for the Palmdale Elementary School District, and currently the Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Palmdale, serving his third term on the council and receiving the most votes in last year’s at-large election.
Lackey and his wife Theresa, live in Palmdale with their two adopted children, Justin and Jani.
